If there was ever a clear indication of the failure of an experimental presidency, it would be that of President elect Barack H. Obama. His quest to bring 'change' to Washington politics, though laudable, has fallen flat on delivery, and for all intents and purposes, is - Dead on Arrival.

At this moment in U.S. history, we in America have no government to speak of. And one can easily read in President Obama's daily televised expressions of his evident frustration and rapidly graying mane - our fearless leader hasn't the slightest clue as to the growing national chaos that is taking place around him.

As he stalls for time in desperate search for the Holy Grail of Liberalism to solve the nation's growing list of 'crisis state' problems, the public is deluged by a daily diet of presidential press conferences that try the patience of both his detractors on the Right - and supporters on the Left.

So to buy time, he has decided to return to the resonant platitudes of his election campaign that deluded so many as to his competency and readiness for the job, by delivering televised - speech, after speech, after speech.

Unfortunately for him, his party and the country, this ploy is not working as his falling popularity polls clearly indicate. And in the of the wake of his mounting debt on the promises he made to the American people, the man in the first year of his presidency is on the brink of going down - like the Titanic.

Domestic Crisis at Hand

Thanks to the Obama administration, Americans now own a major part of the domestic automobile and banking industry. For those who are not familiar with the mechanism, it is defined by the term - Nationalization.

True, we already had a tried and true mechanism for handling failing companies referred to as - Bankruptcy, which comes in several varieties that were designed to allow those companies that potentially could to - reorganize - and - when possible - go back into normal business as a debt restructured rejuvenated enterprise. However, the Obama administration chose not to allow that path to be taken by these companies and chose instead, at tax payers' expense, to financially- bail them out.

By Nationalization and Financial Bailout we have, in essence, rewarded these institutions and their executive leadership for inept management, irresponsible risk taking and in more than just a few instances, outright criminal behavior. In many countries, the magnitude of their acts would be deemed, at the very least, dereliction of trust and - treasonous.

Universal Unhealthy Care

Yes, we do not have 'universal health care' for every American citizen. That's a fact that cannot be argued with. However, we do not have anything for everyone in the country that can be labeled as - universal. The key problem for President Obama is his usage of the term - universal. Like it or not, Mr. Obama, to many Americans, that term cries out - Socialism.

Some of us who are old enough may remember the Automobile Insurance Crisis we in endured in the mid to late 1960's, that for a time seemed unsolvable. But in time with some federal pressure on the insurance industry (despite the outcry and verbal terror campaigns waged by lawyers), we came up with legal accommodations that resulted in - no-fault auto coverage. And that policy to date seems to have worked quite well: we did not require nor need - government supplied or underwritten - public option - automobile insurance.

This example demonstrates that there are other ways to provide most Americans with health insurance without bankrupting the country. But there is simply - no way - to do so within the first term of - any U.S. President.

Up to Our Eyeballs in Debt

America is now in the throes of a monumental economic crisis that we are not - in the best case scenario - likely to extricate ourselves from within the next 50 to 100 years.

As of 2008, our national debt works out to $30,400 per each man, woman and child in the U.S. (or $60,100 per each working member of the population). In short, we are in debt to the entire developed world, and they are becoming more than just a bit anxious about that status.

So what we have to do is the next best thing - survive long enough to allow for a slow steady long-term rebuild. We have to repair and reinforce our society where necessary, and not attempt massive and unaffordable - Social Change Projects.

All's Not Quiet on the International Front

I think it safe to state that in the minds of many on both the Left and the Right sides of the Congressional isle, to date, President Obama's best cabinet appointment has been, Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. He also had either the good fortune or accidental wisdom to continue the appointments from the George W. Bush administration of Ben Bernanke as Chairman of the Federal Reserve, and Sheila Bair as Chairwoman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). But virtually all of the others given important posts have been what can only be described as, at best - a crap shoot. In general, the Obama administration is a portrait of - chaos under construction.

So let us count the ways our foreign policy (or what there was of it to begin with after the Bush presidency) is going to hell in the proverbial hand-basket:

The Middle East:

The Israelis have abandoned all hope in the Obama administration as to achieving a Palestinian accord that will satisfy their security demands, and have announced they are planning new Jewish settlements on the disputed West Bank.

In response to this declaration, the Palestinians in Gaza are moving once again toward a closer relationship with Hamas, as new mortar and rocket attacks against Israel are slowly revving up on their southern border with Lebanon.

The Syrians and the Iranians are in the process of establishing strategic supply pacts with such nations as Venezuela and North Korea. And the Syrians are working at two mysterious construction sites (as far as they can get from Israel), where a number of North Korean technical personal have been reported - once again.

Meanwhile, the Israelis are nervously watching this 'activity with the same degree of trepidation they experience from their surveillance, of events taking place in Iran and Pakistan.

The majority of the world's nuclear experts now agree, that Iran is well within a one year time frame for the debut of its first nuclear weapon

Note: this author is personally of the opinion the Iranians already have the makings of a 'first nuclear weapon', and are simply stalling for time to build a suitable stockpile beyond that first device.

Therefore, only a fool would think that the Israelis are not going to take a stab at seriously crippling the Iranian nuclear facilities sometime in the next 12 months. Insane as that may sound, we all know that such insanity is at the core of Israel's Holocaust driven defense philosophy.

The Iraq Conflict is slowly mutating to a newer war state that will severely challenge its ineffectual U.S. crafted government. Both sides of the resultant conflict are waiting for the U.S. to leave to go at each other once again, while in the wings al Queda awaits the next opportunity.

The Afghanistan War is building toward a major U.S. commitment that we don't have the manpower, finances or national will to invest. Our military leaders say we need another 25,000 to 45,000 'boots on the ground' to simply break even in the war against the Taliban.

The Taliban is now totally vested in Pakistan and that nuclear armed and economically stressed country is barely managing to hold its own in the conflict. At the same time, the government's respect and prestige in the eyes of their people, is blackened every time a U.S. drone attacks and kills a few militants at the cost of several innocent men, women and children - who just happen to be nearby at the time.

The Far East:

North Korea is now in total defiance of the United Nations and the United States. It wants and seeks direct talks with the U.S. to establish itself as a legitimate world power. However, once this goal has been achieved, they will become the primary supplier of weapons grade nuclear material to every renegade nation that can come up with the finances to pay for it.

Japan is now seriously discussing the possible development of a nuclear deterrent, more than likely in response to the continuous North Korean nuclear development and long-range missile test flights over Japan into nearby waters.

Central America:

Mexican drug cartels are in the process of the systematic elimination of the most vulnerable within their ranks, and are organizing into stable operating entities. Once they have achieved this state, they will inevitably attempt to take effective control of the government of Mexico: becoming in the process a hostile state on our southern border.

South America:

Venezuela's anti-American socialist leaning dictator, Hugo Chavez, has set his country on course to become a Russian base (with military air fields). The Russians are now involved in a joint project with Venezuela to construct a major factory complex, to manufacture Kalashnikov military assault rifles.

The Russians has also recently extended $2.2 billion credit to Venezuela to finance arms purchases, including 92 Soviet-era T-72 tanks and short-range missiles with a reach of 55 miles. The long-range threat to the destabilization of Latin America cannot be ignored.

________________________________________________

All of this is just the 'tip of the iceberg' in a rapidly changing world, at which moment the great defender of democracy, the United States of America, is - dead broke. Our infrastructure of roads, bridges, electrical systems and schools are crumbling. In short, we are in big trouble on all fronts - domestic and international. And just what is our national leader heavily engaged in while this activity is taking place - all around us?

Well our President is immersed in achieving a Super Health Care Plan the country cannot afford, and a great proportion of the people are afraid of and don't want. And of course he will, as always, be seen on televised press conferences without limit, delivering - speech, after speech, after speech....

Mr. President: An End Game - Please

Mr. President, government cannot be administered and operated by - Press Conference. Your domestic and foreign policy solutions cannot be found on a teleprompter. When the electorate sees you on television, day after day, after day, they don't read success into your appearances; they read desperation which they interpret as - failure.

President Obama, no one will hold it against you - or your race - for failing in an honorable attempt to keep your campaign promises to change some sectors of the American government that have, over many congressional and presidential generations, been allowed to fall into disrepair. Yes, the system needs a tweak, but not all at one time by any one president - or ruling party. What they will hold against you, however, is continually trying to change far too much too quickly - and failing at all of them.

Therefore, you must begin - now - to plan anew as to where to go next. And most of all, you must completely abandon - Socialistic Thinking.

Like Martin Luther King, you too had a dream to - change America. But your health care plan, or whatever remains of it at the end of your quest, will be a dismal failure if a majority of America's Middle Class don't want or trust your radical proposals.

The Clintons knew when to get off that train to political oblivion before the last stop. May I respectfully suggest that you follow their example and do the same - now.

Let's have more networks & news outlets speak of the graven "image" of the state of Israel: It is the only country that has spit in the face of innumerous international UN resolutions over the past 60yrs,and the UN (alias, USA)is impotent to flex its leverage and force it to comply!
When the UN Sec Council has the muscle to economically sanction Israel-maybe some of our ailments will dissipate.

Some months ago I started reading your blog for fun. I was one of the biggest Obama supporters and like that congressman who shouted out at the president, I would do the same after reading your blogs. . Not any more. The man is in way over his head and now he is hiding his head in the sand. In my opinion that's why he is spending so much time on the health care mess. Its his excuse fon not doing anything. You hit it right on the head in your editorial. He's Mr. Television and thats all.
